The Very Beginning Part II...

So looking back and reading these emails to myself just brings back so many memories.  How far we've come since March, the excitement along the way and the joys that are yet to come.

Monday, May 9th - (6 weeks)
Things have been eventful the past week.  I am feeling great...no real signs of anything different other than sporadic cramping here and there.  I feel like i might be slightly more hungry throughout the day, but Andy thinks I'm eating less, but more often?!?  I sure love my food, so not sure on that one.  This weekend was super special.  Friday night we stayed in as well as Saturday.  We were going to try to tell my parents on Friday, as Andy is going to be traveling this week and next, so we decided we should spill the beans.  Although i really wanted to wait until we were a little further along, I figured if god for bid anything were to happen, we would need my families support so we decided we would tell them on Mother's Day.  So Friday we ask my parents to grab a drink and they were busy, so Sunday it was.  Saturday afternoon I had a baby shower for Katie Anderson, which was at La Bodega, home of the best sangria ever!  Knowing I was going to be with Erin and Kristi, both whom would question my refusal of a glass, I had to think ahead.  So I played I'm "Extremly hungover" card.  I told them I miserable b/c I ate movie theatre popcorn and drank too much red wine, (one of which I did...thank you AMC).  So I made a big to-do that I wasn't feeling well before we went to the shower, so when the sangria came around it wasn't alarming.  So all my efforts to plant the seed were easily executed when they didn't even offer sangria at the shower!!

So Saturday night Andy and I went to Fortune Wok (man have I been craving chicken pad thai) and then decided to get ice cream.  We stopped by my parents to say hi to Liz and Avery.  While we were hanging out Liz said to me, "You look different...you look so happy."  Then she said, "You all look so different..." Not knowing what the next question was going to be, I was like, okay have to go...what is she talking about?  My sisters are infamous for constantly asking me if I'm pregnant, so I had been avoiding them at all costs the past couple weeks.

Sunday morning I woke up to a wonderful Mother's Day...we laid in bed for awhile and then went to 9:00 church.  Adam's sermons always seem to get to me, so I found myself tearing up during the whole ceremony.  We kept ourselves busy all day, knowing that the big news was going to be shared that evening.  Andy surprised me and got me my diaper bag, which is ADORABLE!!  He even got me a sweet card, which brought tears my eyes.
So 5:00 came around and we waited patiently for the family to arrive.  I was pretty nervous about telling them, and also really excited.  I knew they were all going to be thrilled and the secret was killing me.  So we had decided our plan and was ready to go.  Once everyone had been over for 15 minutes, I was like, Oh let me show you something funny that Andy got me.  I ran upstairs and grabbed the new diaper bag, came down and said, "Do you think all our babies' diapers and bottles are going to fit in this?"
Lizzie immediately screamed "I knew it".  Kimmie started balling.  My Dad teared up and my mom smiled from ear to ear.  Little did I know that they had just all had a conversation earlier that Lizzie thought we were pregnant.  She had told them that she really thought we were, she could sense it and they were all going to watch if I was drinking or not.  There's nothing I can hide from them.
So the night was filled with stories, excitement, crying, laughing and so much fun!  It's such a relief knowing they know and having someone else to talk about it!!

Ironic Event - we were sitting at the dinner table talking about names and I asked everyone to tell me what their favorite names are and my mom blurted out "Anna"...which Andy and I have talked about naming a girl, (if we have one), Annabelle...how ironic.

What I look most forward to this week - going to the doctor on Thursday.

Cheers to our little sesame seed :)
