Yes it happened again, we were able to see Baby Nielsen at yet another appointment. We had set our 16 week appointment for my birthday, as we both have half day Fridays during the summer and thought it would be fun to have that to look forward to. We joked prior to going in there, that we would have a "normal" appointment. Well turns out it was a little normal, but not completely. The first question the doctor asked was how I was feeling and the truth is...awful still. Andy spoke up, since I tend to sugar coat things and act like they aren't as bad as they are and said I had been miserable and not getting any better. So, next thing she says is well we need to schedule an ultra sound to make sure there is not two babies in there or you don't have a cyst. Andy had joked that he wanted her to give us the best birthday present of finding out our babies sex and she said, well happy birthday today you can!
20 minutes and 32 ounces of water later we were in the waiting room at Diagnostic Imaging center (since our doctor's tech was on vacation). We were both pretty gitty, but yet, both really nervous. One, could we really be finding out what our baby is today and two, if there were two little babes in there. We knew the likely hood of there being two in there was slim, but it was not ruled out completely. So we sat and waited and then heard our name. We went to the room and got to see the most beautiful site...our little baby. The little bean was jumping around in there, moving all around and grown so much in the past 4 weeks. She took numerous pictures, checked everything out, and confirmed there was only one baby, no cyst and everything looked good. So at the conclusion of the appointment and the tip of the anticipation Andy asked, so what it is? And she responded, I won't tell you...I never tell before 17 weeks. WHAT? So needless to say, Andy argued, she stood firm and we walked out with these precious photos.
The wait continues, but only two more weeks until we know what bundle of joy will be entering our world come January 3rd!
