As Andy and I venture down the path of parenthood, we wanted to be able to share the highlights along the way!
After a long 14 weeks, we are starting the second trimester! What a rocky road it's been. From the 6 week scare, to the constant nausea, we are ready to leap into the next phase.
Favorite Moments So Far
Finding out we were pregnant. Not believing the first pregnancy test I drove to Price Chopper at 6:15 am with pjs on, no shoes, no bra, hair ratted to buy another brand, all the while Andy was at home making his lunch for the day :) The look on his face when the second one came out positive was one I’ll always remember.
Telling our family and friends. We were so fortunate to be able to tell most of our family and friends in person. The reactions were all priceless and memories we will have forever. Sharon screamed for about 10 minutes straight, Kimmie stood there and cried and Lizzie had told everyone that she thought we were pregnant because she could "Just tell". Something about a sister's intuition.
Because of some hurdles along the way, we have been blessed to see our little munchkin three times now. From the first ultrasound and the last minute finding of the heartbeat, to the latest 12 week appointment the babe has grown so much. This past appointment when we were supposed to hear the heartbeat, but the doctor was unable to find it, due to my lovely body, it was moving and grooving. The babe was kicking its legs and moving all around. It was such a beautiful site seeing it formed as an actual baby.
Not So Favorite Moments
Unfortunately I am one of the many woman who suffer from nausea. While most have it at one point in the day, mine is from sun up to sun down. Striking on my 6th week, I have been battling the toilet, day after day.
During week 11 I was driving to work one morning after having stopped at Panera for the 4th morning in a row (I can't get enough bagels and cream cheese) when it hit me. Having just merged onto I-35 going 65 miles per hour, I grabbed a plastic bag, emptied out the contents and proceeded to throw up on the highway. Fortunately I was able to get over to the right lane, put my emergency signal on and sit on the side of the highway and finish getting sick.
We are so excited for this new journey and look forward to meeting our new bundle of joy!
