17 Weeks

This week we hit week 17 and Andy is off to Poland.  Yes, another last minute trip, but he will be back in time for our appointment next Friday. We scheduled the official sonogram to find out Baby Nielsen's gender.  We can hardly wait!  Despite our disappointment last week, I'm so glad we have next week to look forward to, while Andy is away.  We both are taking the day off and going to hang out in the morning and then go to our appointment at 11:00.  Friday night we are having our families over for the Baby Revealing.  We asked everyone to wear pink or blue depending on what gender they think the little love bug is.  Andy still thinks girl and I still think boy!  My first pregnancy dream happened when I was in NYC a couple weeks ago for work and I dreamt we were getting our sono and it was a little boy.  The next night was followed by a dream of me in labor and waking up and asking Andy what we had and he brought in a baby girl.  So needless to say the only two dreams I've had gave me conflicting results!

It's so amazing week by week how much the baby is growing...and mom :)  Here's an overview of what is happening this week and a glimpse at my tum growing.

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.
