WOW – we hit a year old! And yes, time does fly by. I cannot believe our sweet little Annabelle is 1 years old.
Andy and I were reflecting last night as we were going to bed on what an amazing year this has been. She has brought so much happiness, laughter and joy to our life. She truly has been the most incredible blessing and do not know what we did with our time before her.
We are in size 4 diapers and try to wear night time diapers (if we have some at home). Think these keep her dryer through the night and her diaper rashes better. We are in 18 month clothing. We have our self a little ghetto booty and a tum-tum!
We are weighing in at 24 lbs. and have slimmed down so much. She is in the 25% for height and 85% for weight. We eat breakfast when we wake up, a 9:00 morning snack, lunch, 2:30 afternoon snack and then dinner. We have moved to whole milk and NO bottles. We quit bottles cold turkey and she doesn’t seem to miss them. She is good at drinking out of her sippy cup, but does not like milk yet. We have been trying to get her to drink more of it, as the doctor said she needs 4 servings of dairy a day, but think it’s going to be a challenge. She will put it in her mouth and then spit it out all over. The transition to formula took awhile, so hoping we can overcome this battle too. We are still weird about textures, but trying more foods and learning how to feed our self. She is a complete disaster after meals and find about half of the food stuck to her clothes and highchair.
We are sleeping well throughout the night. We go down about 7:30 and will sleep until 7:00. Some mornings she will sleep later/earlier, give or take 30 minutes. Once we moved to the older kids room at school we went down to one nap a day and have adjusted well to that. Nap time is usually from 11:45 – 2:00/30. It works great during the week, but more difficult on the weekends, when we are typically out and about at that time.
We still love our pacifier and think we are liking it even more these days. The doctor said we do not need to think about transitioning it away until she is 2 years old, so glad about that. She is so good about self soothing with it and helps her put herself back down.
We are walking everywhere and love to point. She is getting better and better about showing us what she wants by pointing and mumbling. We still say mama, dada, baba and ga-ga (doggies). She loves the dogs and Sandy loves to go in her room every morning when she wakes up to greet her to the day. She absolutely loves her baby dolls and is starting to play more and more on her own.
A new teacher is beginning in her room first of the year, so I’m a little anxious about how it’s going to be. Her current lead teacher is super nice and Annabelle seems to like her, so hate that she is leaving and will be introducing someone new. We are going through a phase now that she does not want me to leave her in the mornings, so feel awful every morning. I know she quickly gets over it, but it breaks my heart hearing her cry L Fortunately Lizzie typically drops off Avery after me in the mornings, so she can do a check in and make sure she’s a happy camper.
She is still a cuddle bug and loves to curl up with us. She is becoming more affectionate and sometimes tries to kiss us. It’s a full on open mouth slobber all over your face, but the sweetest thing.
Just love our little Annabean.
