An unplanned doctor's visit

I called my doctor yesterday because I have been feeling some cramping the past week.  It had increased the past couple days and I wanted to make sure that it was normal. So I spoke with a nurse and she asked me a series of questions.  I wasn't concerned about the feelings, but also didn't know if they were normal.  I debated on whether to call or not, but figured I should.  So after a quick discussion with the nurse she said she would talk to the doctor and call me back.  Less than two minutes later she was on the phone asking me to come in.  She said they needed to check things out to make sure I was not in pre-term labor.
I didn't freak out because I knew things were okay, but that term was not what I was expecting to hear.  Seeing that Andy is in China, I went over to my mom's office and told her I was leaving.  She immediately dropped what she was doing and said she was coming with. One of the benefits of working at the same company as your mom :)  I told her she didnt' need to, but was glad I had her along to keep my mind off it and for moral support.
The doctor got me right in, checked all things out and confirmed that everything was okay. She wanted to make sure my water had not broke and that my cervix was still firm and in place.  Checked for infections, heart beat, placement, etc.
A little scary, but all ended up okay!  She said I needed to rest, so hoping to have a relaxing weekend!
