We are in the 23rd week and a lot has happened this past week...so let me begin.
First off little miss is about 12 inches long and over a pound in weight. Her sense of movement is fully developed, so she can feel me move. She can also hear noise outside the womb, so the lovely noises of Sandy and Sophie constantly barking are all but too familiar to her now. She is definitely getting stronger as I'm starting to feel her a lot more. It's the most incredible feeling and I love that she is getting bigger for others to feel.
Last weekend was an extended weekend for both Andy and I, so we were able to dedicate some time to the baby. We purchased a comfy rocker/recliner/glider for our bedroom. We figured we would be spending plenty of time in our room and have the perfect corner for a chair, so got that marked off the list. After we found out we were having a girl we came home with numerous bags full of Avery's clothes. I spent Saturday going through and organizing all the clothes, washing them, laying them out in piles by months. (I think you can say I'm starting to nest). It was so fun to look at clothes and picture her in them!! Breakfast is still my favorite meal and cannot get enough French Toast. Our new favorite thing to do on the weekends is wake up early and go to breakfast. We started this early on and have continued to make a weekend date of it and sometimes both mornings (if I'm lucky).
Last week we also got the news that Andy would be traveling to China for 9 days :( He has been quite the world traveler this year and we are hoping this will be his last trip for awhile. I got a new cell phone that allows us to see each other, so that has made the distance easier. I think it's harder to have him gone now that I'm pregnant...or it might just be the hormones, but hate having him away. He had a long 15 hour plane ride from Chicago to Shang-Hi, that he sent me a photo of his seat. He also sent some photos from his hotel room...not the most exciting view.
We go to the doctor Monday the 19th and am excited for the next visit. I have continued to feel good and cherish the energy I have. I can honestly say when people ask how I feel "good". Looking forward to continuing on this wonderful journey!
