Annabelle turned 16 months on Saturday and was celebrated
with some McDonald’s French fries. I
never thought we would give her fast food at this young of an age, but I can
see how easy it is for parents to default to McD’s for a meal. No, this will not become a habit, but she
sure LOVED them.
This month has been another amazing month but filled with
more attitude. She is definitely coming
into her own and learning more and more what she wants and what she doesn’t
want. Dinner time is still a struggle as
she is very particular about what she likes and doesn’t like. It’s to the point where before we even put it
on our plate she will spit and purse her lips in disgust. We are continuing to try new foods and Dr.
Espe said to keep trying, so we are doing that, but feel she is standing her
ground and we are wasting so much food.
Her size does not indicate any lack of food, but hate that she is so
picky about what she likes and won’t even try new things.
This past month at school Annabelle started playing up more,
as she is getting ready to transition into the Toddler room. I think she is pretty bored in her room
currently, as she is one of the oldest kids and they seem to be less active
than she likes to be. Her teachers think
she is ready but hesitate because she is not eating lunches, only the fruit and
snacks at school, so want her to eat better before she moves up. She is getting better about not crying every
morning when I leave, but still struggles half the mornings I drop her
off. Tuesday’s she is still with Sharon
which I love because I get photos and updates throughout the day.
We have become a talker…and learned the word “NO”. I think the first time she said it was when
she was pointing at the dogs and saying “No, no”. Now that she knows how to say it and I think
she knows what it means we say it A LOT.
She loves to say “Up – pease” to be picked up.
She is in size 5 diapers, 18-24 month clothing, 5-5.5 size
shoe. She goes down about 7:30 at night
and sleeps anywhere between 6:30 and 7:30.
Inevitably she likes to wake up at 6:30 on the weekends, but later
during the week J
She loves being outside and will just sit on the front step
forever if we let her. She loves her
babies, anything she can push around and her pink chair. She still has her paci, but we are trying to
limit it to only bedtime and naptime.
This month has been such a blast and one of my favorites so
far!!
