We had Annabelle’s 15 month well doctor visit this
week. I always look forward to these
appointments and am excited to hear what is in store for the next few
months. Unfortunately she had to get 3
shots and was not a happy girl, but managed to put a smile back on her face
once we got out of the office.
Now that we are mobile, office visits aren’t as easy as they
used to be. She does not like to be shut inside a room and is so eager to get
out. The days of sitting patiently and
waiting are over and now consumed with playing every game, dancing around,
really anything to keep her from a meltdown.
Annabelle weighed 25-1/2 pounds and was 2’ 6” tall. She is in the 80% for weight and 50% for
height!
She is going down at 7:30 – 7:45 and sleeps until 7:00 –
7:30. We still will rock her down for a
few minutes, for our own sake, but she loves her crib and will put herself to
sleep. She really likes her Lovey now
and curls up with it for bedtime. She
sleeps on her tummy with her booty up in the air and face down in her blankets
and stuffed animals. She only naps once
a day and it is usually for 2 hours. I
wish her school would enforce longer afternoon nap periods, but she seems to do
fine on the limited rest she gets some days.
She eats breakfast when she wakes up, snack time at 9:00, lunch at
11:00, naptime immediately following, snack 2:30-3:00 and then dinner.
Eating…I’d say she is a decent eater. She is still very particular about textures
and will refuse anything she does not like the looks of. She loves fruit and could eat it for her
entire meal if allowed. Mandarin oranges
are her favorite!! She likes pizza
rolls, chicken nuggets, fish sticks, anything cracker-ish, tator tots, peanut
butter toast, peas. She won’t eat any
casseroles, hamburgers, chicken, taco meat.
Dr. Espe said to keep trying different things and try them over and over
again. Hopefully this next month she
will get past some of her reservations about food and broaden her pallet.
She is in 18 month clothing and a size 5 in shoes. Her favorite words are doggie, daddy, mommy,
more, cracker. She knows how to sign
“more” and “all done”, which is the absolute cutest thing. She loves to be read to and will go over to
her rocker in her room and hit the chair for us to sit in it and read her a
book before bed. It’s amazing to watch
her tell us what she wants through her actions and signals. She is very expressive and knows what she
wants.
She is walking all over the place and loves to be
outside. Unfortunately the weather has
been so up and down, we have not been able to spend as much time outside as
we’d like. She knows where her food is
at in the pantry and will go over, open the doors and pull out whatever she is
in the mood for. It’s pretty cute that
she knows how to get her own food, although a few times we’ve had full boxes of
cereal all over the kitchen floor :) She still loves her baby dolls and loves to climb on things . Anything that she can push is of interest and she'll even climb into her baby wagons and have us pull her around the house in them.
This past month has been filled with so much energy and
conversation. She is becoming more
independent, expressive and quite the talker.
I think we say this every month, but cannot wait to see what’s in store
this month and wish we could just press pause.
We love our little Annabelle and the incredible joy she brings us each and
every day!!!
