We are 9 months old!

Ms. Annabelle is 9 months old today!

This past month has been filled with exploration and mischief.  She is all over the place!  We are so inquisitive about everything and determined to put our mouth on whatever we can find.
We are in size 3 diapers, but size 4 night time diapers.  We bought night time diapers in a value pack and have loved them for the night. They are bigger and absorb more, so she doesn’t wake up with her diaper about to fall off.  She is also sleeping longer, so it helps keep her dry.  We have started to go down between 7:30 and 8:00 and wake up about 6:30-7:00.  We take our night time bottle and most often times than not, she falls asleep during the end of it and she’s out for the night.  We always get settled in on the couch, give her a bottle and try to catch up on a show or two while she falls asleep.  It’s so peaceful having her sleep in our arms.  I find myself thinking about Darius Rucker’s song “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” quite often and it makes me reflect on the current time and try to enjoy the moment with her.  The laundry can wait, the emails can wait, because her lying with us won’t be like this for long.  Tear :(

Annabelle is such a great eater.  I completely stopped breast feeding her this past week.  It was very bittersweet.  It’s been a little adjustment for her getting used to all formula, but think she is finally adapting.  We have a bottle in the morning, then oatmeal, fruit and veggies for breakfast.  Then another bottle and lunch which consists of oatmeal, fruits and veggies and then an afternoon bottle.  Followed by dinner, same 3 foods and a bottle before bed.  She has loved everything we have tried except green beans.  She hates them and gags when you try to feed her them.  She is funny about textures and definitely has an opinion on foods that she does not like the feel of.  We have started to give her more people food, but she hasn’t quite picked up on it yet.  She grinds her teeth now when she eats and makes the chewing movement, so know she is trying to learn how to chew big girl food.  She likes squash and bananas, and are going to slowly introduce other options for her.  She loves her puffs and is so cute when she eats them.  She will literally pick up a handful at a time and try to shove them all in her mouth.  They are a great distraction for her when we eat out and a good way for her to learn how to feed herself.

Now that Annabelle moved rooms at school she is on a more regimented sleep schedule.  They put the kids down at 10:30 and 2:30 for nap times.  She normally takes a short morning nap of 45 minutes and a longer afternoon nap.  She is pulling herself up on everything.  Sometimes she will let go of what she is holding and stand on her own for a few seconds before falling down.  She is very fascinated with the TV stand and loves to pull on anything with knobs.  Welcome to child proofing the home!

She is in 12 and 18 month clothing, weighing in at 22-1/2 pounds. She can only fit into 12 month sleepers.  Her 12 month shirts are a little tight on her belly, but good through the arms.  She is still such a happy baby, filled with so much love.  She is talking more and more, but hasn’t said anything new recently.  We learned to clap and she waves her arms when she gets really excited. Avery is the best at getting her going and she will flail her arms mimicking Avery.  Then she will clinch her teeth together, big grin and clap her hands.  She lights up when I pick her up from school and she is always so excited to see us.  It warms my heart seeing her notice us and reacting the way she does.  We have 7 teeth...3 on bottom and 4 on top.

She’s still our little stinker, pumpkin, monkey, Annabean, AB…the best thing ever!!
