After our two nights in the hospital we were released Thursday the 29th to come home. I was so ready to get her home and get settled in our new life. It's amazing how in life you go through training for almost everything you do, from school, to driving, to riding a bike and for some reason having a baby you just get sent off with them and have to figure it all out. We got her loaded in the car seat and off we went. I think Andy drove the slowest I have ever seen him drive and we cautiously made our way back home. We were finally bringing her home...something we had been anticipating now for months! Tears streamed down my face the entire way!
Coming home was so nice and showering in my own shower was a treat. We put Annabelle in her pack n' play the first 3 nights. We thought we would have her in it for the first few months, as I planned to breast feed and thought it would be easiest to have her right there. As much as I loved having her right beside me, her every noise and move kept me awake all night long. I also found that the rocker in the nursery was the most comfortable to breast feed in, and it didn't wake up Andy, so found myself going in there. So after the third night we put her in the crib. More on that later.
Here are some photos of her the first week at home:
She was not a happy camper here, but this was after her first bath. She did great in the bath and enjoyed the warm water over her head, but did not like the dry off.
All the squealing wore her out!
This was her at 1 week on the awesome blanket my Aunt Anne made for her.
