14 months

Sweet little Annabelle is 14 months old.  She is such a little person now and is so independent.  She is super inquisitive about most everything and tries to communicate more and more each day.  She babbles all the time and can tell she is trying to have a conversation with you.  I’m sure most of the correspondence is Mom give me food or come play with me, but love to watch her try to relay what she is thinking.  She is still pretty picky about certain foods, but has expanded her palette this past month.  Her favorite dinners are pizza rolls, tator tots, fish sticks…yes all the kid foods I didn’t think we would result to at night.  Her absolute favorite food is mandarin oranges and will easily finish a full can in one sitting.  She loves peanut toast, Greek yogurt, anything cracker like and bananas.  She has not taking a liking to anything pasta-ish and will spit it out if it doesn’t fit her liking J  She is such a social butterfly and continues to be so incredibly happy.  We have had some difficulties in the mornings dropping her off where she does not want me to leave.  She immediately will grab my leg and breakdown when I leave her.  The teachers assure me she stops once I’m gone, but hate to start off the mornings with a sad baby girl.

She is wearing number 4 diapers and has battled a constant diaper rash this past month. I think it’s worse when she drinks a lot before bed and the different medicines that have created her stomach sensitivities.  She is going down between 7:30 and 8:00 and will sleep until about 7:00.  Sometimes a little earlier and some mornings later.  Inevitably she likes the 6:30 wake up calls on weekends, but closer to 7:30 during the work week.

She is walking everywhere, actually running everywhere I should say J  She loves to go outside, although the weather has not been conducive to enjoying the fresh air.  She loves the doggies and will point at them and say “No”.  Oh dear, she has picked up that one from us.  Her vocabulary consists of mama, dada, doggie, milk, baba (although we don’t have them anymore), cracker, ball.

She eats breakfast in the morning whenever we wake, 9:00 snack, 11:00 lunch, then nap time around 11:45.  Naps are normally two hours, 2:30 – 3:00 snack and then dinner time.  We have eliminated the bottle completely so will have a sippy cup of milk at night.  She is weighing in at 25 pounds and is in 18 month clothing, but can still fit into some 12 month clothes and some 24 month clothes.

Annabelle continues to amaze us and fill our hearts with so much joy.  Cannot wait to see what this next month will bring us!

  1. Your routine sounds exactly like ours! Carson loves mandarin oranges and clementines too. I read somewhere that citrus fruits can make their diaper rash worse. Obviously, every kid is different, but I thought I would mention it because it helped us:). When we minimize his citrus intake during bad rashes, it gets better and clears up faster. Also, Aquafor is the only cream that works for us:).
